Have you heard of the HRP-4C? Well it's a female robot that was developed by Japans National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. It's quite disturbing to watch this 'model' strut her stuff.
The modelbot is 158 centimetres tall and weighs in at about 43 kilograms, including batteries. She can walk around and strike a pose like a professional. This creation can make gestures and basic expressions on her face, i.e anger, surprise.
Why a model we ask? Why put so much time and research in financing a model robot? Are we lacking models in this world?
We wish they came up with a better name than HRP-4C. They need to give her a special name. ANY NAME SUGGESTIONS?
The model is scheduled to do her first and official catwalk debut in a fashion show in Tokyo next week. Which designer will this humanoid robot be wearing? NOTHING. She will be strutting the catwalk with no clothes! Doesn't that defeat the purpose? As we assume it's important for designers to see how the clothes will 'hang' on the model, as that is the purpose of a model to make the clothes look good.
The modelbot may be naked for her first show, but soon enough we hope she will be wearing the latest trends.
Man is getting closer to developing the PERFECT woman.....right?!
