VIACOM Vs YOU TUBE AND GOOGLE - Today's Court Ruling By Michael Fricklas

Today's Court Ruling By Michael Fricklas, Viacom Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary: We are disappointed with the judge's ruling, but confident we will win on appeal.Copyright protection is essential to the survival of creative industries. It is and should be illegal for companies to build their businesses with creative material they have stolen from others. Without this protection, investment in the development of art and entertainment would be discouraged, and the many artists and producers who devote their lives to creating it would be hurt. Copyright protection is also critical to the web– because consumers love professional content and because legitimate websites shouldn't have to compete with pirates.YouTube and Google demonstrated that required tools to limit piracy aren't impossible to find or even that difficult to implement – they fixed the problem of rampant piracy on YouTube after Viacom filed this lawsuit. Before that, however, YouTube and Google stole hundreds of thousands of video clips from artists and content creators, including Viacom, building a substantial business that was sold for billions of dollars. We believe that should not be allowed by law or common sense. This case has always been about whether intentional theft of copyrighted works is permitted under existing law and we always knew that the critical underlying issue would need to be addressed by courts at the appellate levels. Today's decision accelerates our opportunity to do so.

What is your opinion?

Jose Saramago died at 87 years old - R.I.P.

Saramago, nobel prize, was known for using long phrases and sentences, using punctuation for an unconventional way. The dialogues of characters are entered in the preceding paragraphs themselves, so there are no indents in his books: this type of tagging lines provides a strong sense of stream of consciousness to the point the reader to get confused if a certain dialogue was real or just a thought. Many of their sentences (ie sentences) occupy more than one page, using commas where most writers would use periods. Likewise, many of its paragraphs occupy whole chapters from other authors. Nevertheless his style does not make reading difficult, your readers can easily get used to your own pace.

First Ever Online Music Trade Show to Debut in October 2010

The first ever online Music Trade Show will debut in October 2010. This is the very first trade show for the music industry. The show will contain music artists, both individuals and bands, MP3 download sites, music video producers, film producers, filmmakers, and people in both PR and Media relations and record labels. The point of the show is to display individual and company artists, the contact information, exposure on Facebook and MySpace, live chats, and of course detailed information about the artists and their companies.
Instead of companies having to pay lavishly for hotels, lunch/dinner meetings, registrations, onsite booth rentals, and worrying about air travel, cars, and parking, this will instead enable people to stay at home and avoid costly travel expenses and all the related bother. This will help maintain attendance levels while at the same time even raising them because of the ability for more people to display their talent without having to do any costly traveling and disrupting their routines and missing work. This will provide even more exposure for even more people!
The price is $310.00USD per online booth and the total available are two thousand booths. Listings will be displayed on the website after purchase and the show will go live October 4th, 2010 to October 8th, 2010; then, after the show the people/companies who have purchased booths will still be listed for three months until January 2011.
