World Aids Day

Tomorrow December 1st 2009 is the Worlds AIDS Day. The MTV Staying Alive Foundation has yet again broken barriers and continues to educate our youth with importance of AIDS awareness.

This year Travis McCoy, frontman of Gym Class Heroes united forces with MTV and became a Staying Alive ambassador. He traveled to South Africa, India and the Philippines to meet with and give needed exposure on the young people who are working hard to promote AIDS awareness. These young pioneers are the pushing force in their countries for the grass-root HIV and AIDS awareness projects, supported by MTV Staying Alive.

5 Steps On How To Become A Great Short-term TV Presenter

So, last week we prepared you for becoming a TV Presenter really fast in a short amount of time. Now we have step 2 of the process:

5 Easy Steps On How To Become An Excellent Short-term TV Presenter

1. Always live your day as a SALMON! Meaning there is no tomorrow, today is your last chance and in the end of the day you have to deliver some eggs or be serving or be served on a plate. It entirely depends on you. We suggest you also eat loads of salmon because it helps defy the aging process.
   
   
   
2. Go to Brazil to ALTER YOUR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE! Consider getting porcelain teeth, but if your real problem is hair loss than either spray it on or go for implants. Brazil has the best plastic surgeons and prices for liposuction and silicone implants (FYI men’s breast implants are a must) however, if you made it this far in presenting than you probably don't need to get man boobs.
   
   
   
3. Always make sure to have MORE FRAME TIME! In other words, make sure your face is in that box, screen, tube, telly more than your fellow presenters and guests. Here's a TIP: Always be the first in for hair and make up, which allows you to then be first on set, catch our drift... Also, make sure you have a chair with wheels, so that you can roll into shot at any point, therefore that secures your face on that screen every minute. During the Break, encourage your fellow host to drinks lots of water and keep refilling their cup this will gain their trust as you are doing such a kind gesture, but this also guarantees that they will be uncomfortable and wanting to pee during the entire taping which then causes them not to present well.
   
   
   
4. Always BLAME THE A.D! When your fellow presenter seems to be getting more screen time than you, show them who's the boss by nudging them under the table, tickling or pinching them, and steal their lines. Most importantly, make sure to tell them that the AD advised you to do so. Noone really checks with A.D about anything anyway....
   
   
   
5. Always FLIRT! We mean it, flirt with literally every single person in that studio. Don't be picky, everyone counts, forget your type, taste, or even gender preference, it's ALL or NOTHING. At the end of the day make sure to pass by the director’s office and offer to help them out with anything they need. Be Proactive! (and also always use this word as much as possible)!
   
   

Let us remind you, that these are the true experiences of a stupid small town DJ who went on to become a stupid successful international TV senior executive. So these things did really happen, and many presenters do REALLY go by these rules, and go on to be very successful!

5 Easy Steps On How To Become A Presenter Fast

Is TV Presenting your dream, but you don't have the patience to wait for your break?

Well here are 5 Super Easy Steps on how to become a TV presenter fast!

1. Always wake up with MAKE UP! (men included). You never know when you are going to be posted on the web after a beautiful night of networking. Do it Venezuelan style "Always be prepared to be on a soup opera."

2. Get on a REALITY SHOW! Make sure to get the press's attention by declaring that you are on the show for the sake of your parents. OR that you suffer from agoraphobia, both reasons are juicy bait for the press. Always somehow get your parents on the reality show. Most importantly, ALWAYS SMILE and FLIRT with the producer. They will then be kind enough to advise you on which camera angle is best for you.

3. Get FRIENDS! Become friends with everyone and we literally mean every single person you meet. Believe in the LA talk!

4. Go to every CASTING you can until 2am. This is for those of you who go to casting and are the last call...don't fret because that's the best call time! From 2am onwards its time to start networking! When casting directors are wrapping up the casting, they always go for dinner, drinks or join in on group events and you want to make sure to be in on that!

5. Participate in the COUCH TEST! If any producer, director or media professional mentions the couch test do be aware it’s not a trip to IKEA trip or a suggestion for a siesta. Just do your best and ignore the noises! If it worked for Robert
   Pattinson, it should work for you...
